The PWS Derby is the annual fundraising party for PWS in Colorado. Taking place on the first Saturday in May, we host a party on Kentucky Derby Day – donors enjoy mint juleps and Derby cuisine, watch and bet on the actual race, and use their winnings and cash to bid on prizes at the live and silent auction. We raise about $80,000 annually and would like to reach $100,000. Colorado’s PWS families work together to make the event a success. Our goal is to raise money for:

• PWS research through the Foundation for Prader-Willi Syndrome (about $50,000 annually)
• PWS Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado (Eight times per year)
• PWS Scholarship Program – We help defray uncovered medical, educational, and other expenses through a scholarship program
• IEP Consultant
• Long-term Care – We’re working to establish a PWS adult group living facility in Colorado
